For more than 25 years, JMF Doors have been making custom, handmade, 5 piece mortice and tenon MDF doors, made individually to each customer’s requirements in their chosen design and the exact size they require. From the era of ‘Changing Rooms’ to the era of ‘Grand Designs’ one thing has remained constant, the simplest way to make a dramatic change on a budget is to simply change the doors on your bedroom furniture or install replacement kitchen doors.

Our bespoke, primed and sanded wardrobe and kitchen cabinet doors allow you to hand paint the final finish in the colour of your choice, offering an infinite number of possibilities and allowing every single customer to indulge in having exactly what they want. And with our ability to make bespoke sizes, we are able to make the exact size of door you need at NO additional premium to a standard sized door. Why? Because every single door is made to order by hand, by our skilled craftsmen, so the price is the same, regardless of the size, it’s that simple. MDF or Medium Density Fibreboard is a fibre board made from wood fibres and resin, bonded under high pressures. The finished boards do not have a grain and are therefore ideal for painting or filling. Thus holes can be filled and sanded with ease and are completely invisible when painted- very handy should you ever decide to change from a handle to a knob, for instance.

Another advantage of MDF is that once it is sealed, it is a very stable material, and unlike wood, is not prone to warping or shrinkage- extremely important when manufacturing large wardrobe doors, most of which are over 2m high. Finally, all of our materials are sourced from manufacturers who use wood from sustainable forestation, and as the process also uses the whole tree by using the wasted branches and bark left over from larger board production, there is little wastage, making MDF doubly environmentally sound.
